This is the readme file for the SSG-Calc program.

Please Note that this program is still in the alpha version stage.

NOTES ON PROGRAMMING

The last time I did any serious programming was back in the days of
DOS before Windows even existed (before 1985, making it over 26
years). Since I had to take a programming course for my Masters in
GIS, I found that as a college student, I could get a free full
version of Visual Studio 2010 Professional (VS10). Thus, I am
learning programming all over again. Although I have been able to
write this program rather easily, VS10 is so far removed from any
programming environment I used so long ago in a galaxy far, far away...

I ask that you bear with me as I learn a totally different method of
programming.

NOTES ON VERSIONING

I know there is an official method for deriving version numbers.
However, I prefer my method best. There is a right way, a wrong way,
and my way. And, IMHO, my way is the best. ;)

I make the version number in accordance to the alpha, beta, and
official releases. The first number is the official release. The
second number is the beta version release. The third number is the
alpha version release. If you add all three numbers, then you will
have the number of builds.

NOTES ON INSTALLATION

If you do not have the .NET Framework 4 installed, or you are not
sure, then use the file setup.exe for installation. It will install
the .NET Framework 4, if needed, and any other dependent files before
installing the SSG-Calculator.

If you are sure that you have the .NET Framework 4 installed, then
use the SSG-CalcSetup.msi for installation.

Once installed and if you download a newer version, the newer version
will not uninstall the previous version. You will have to do it
through Control Panel > Programs and Features (on Windows Vista) or
the equivalent for other Windows versions. I have used Visual Studio
10 to build this program. According to the Help files, setting the
property RemovePreviousVersions to True is supposed to automatically
handle this process. However, it does not automatically remove the
previous version. I will look into this process and come up with
mine own solution. If I do, you will be notified in the readme text
file.

NOTES ON SSG-CALCULATOR

I tried to make the program as intuitive to use as possible.
Hopefully I succeeded. If not, then refer to the C:/UseSSGCalc/
UseSSG-Calc.html file also included in the zipfile.
